Catherine Cleophas chairs the working group Service Science at CAU Kiel, Germany. She is a visiting researcher at the Management Science Department of Lancaster University Management School. Previously, she headed the research group Advanced Analytics as Associate Professor at RWTH Aachen University, Germany. In her research, she considers considers the application of predictive simulation and data analytics in the context of optimization and planning. She is also a member of the advisory board of the Paderborn Institute for Advanced Studies in Computer Science and Engineering.
Her research interests include decision support systems with particular regard to urban transportation, air transport, and revenue management. She has published on simulations as a tool for decision support and training, diverse aspects of revenue management and demand fulfillment. From 2011 to 2013, she held a position as assistant professor at the Department of Information Systems at Freie Universität Berlin. She has previously worked as a consultant in the area of revenue management, supporting the development of simulation systems as well as change management and user training in this area. She holds a doctorate and a diploma in information systems from the University of Paderborn (2009 and 2006).
