Electric Vehicle Evacuation Study

I am forwarding this message from Eleftheria Kontou and Denissa Purba:

Dear all,

I am reaching out to invite you to participate in our survey on Electric Vehicle (EV) Evacuations

With our stated preference survey, we aim to investigate and model how drivers of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) choose routes and make charging decisions during an evacuation order. Our goals are to:

  1. Characterize routing and charging preferences of BEV drivers during an evacuation order;
  2. Provide recommendations and guidelines to planners and decision-makers who aim to reduce BEV drivers’ vulnerability by integrating recharging-routing behavioral models in evacuation planning;
  1. Identify the impact of BEV and charging station specifications on evacuation decisions.

 This survey consists of two parts. The first part includes questions on personal and vehicle characteristics. In the second part, the participant will be placed in a mandatory flooding evacuation order scenario using a BEV and go through a series of choice experiments for evacuation routing and en-route charging to a safe zone/destination. Completing the survey will take roughly 25 minutes. Participation is voluntary and confidential.

 Please access our survey here: https://go.cee.illinois.edu/EVEvacuation

 Thank you in advance for your response and your participation in this scientific endeavor!

 I will be happy to answer any questions. Please use the following email to contact our research group: kontou@illinois.edu.

 Kind regards,
 Dr. Kontou
