INFORMS Annual Meeting: What to do?

With all of us making our way to the US (Indianapolis, to be exact) for this year's INFORMS, the question emerges: What to do at this massive conference? Which sessions to attend?

Within the TSL Communications Team, we (very subjectively), would of course recommend you to attend the many sessions we host!

For example, did you know that we're now having a Mid-Career Award (the Stella-Dafermos Award)?
Our award sessions will take place on Tuesday between 8:00-9:15AM (Best Paper awards), 11:00-12:15 AM (Mid-career and lifetime awards), 12:30-1:45 PM (Dissertation Award). You can even remain seated in room 209 for that :)

A new concept at this INFORMS is Flash Talk sessions, i.e., around 8 very short presentations in 75 minutes. I personally am very much looking forward to getting an overview over the breadth that is TSL.
Our Flash sessions will take place on Monday 5:00-6:15 PM and Tuesday 8:00-9:15 AM (both in room 211).

Obviously, we should not forget about the TSL Business Meeting. Even during the last board meeting, Sandra, Jan, and Mike didn't let anything slip on the keynote speakers of the TSL Conference next year, but promised to reveal them at our business meeting, stay tuned!

Personally, I am also very intrigued by the many sessions on novel aspects in transport, such as electrification or automation. I am, for example, looking forward to the sessions MC48 and TC48 in room 210. Also, we have more and more sessions on last mile delivery, for example session MA46 on crowdsourcing on the last mile.

I am also happy to see that transportation, logistics, and mobility is more and more picked up by other societies, be it via shared mobility (a "service") or at the intersect with health, disaster response, or public policy.
