The Early Career Award recognizes early-career researchers for their out- standing contributions to the field of computer simulation. Contri- butions may include, but are not limited to, papers (published or accepted for publication), books, monographs, software, and service contributions that have advanced the field. They must feature origi- nal ideas and methods and indicate a clear trajectory to generate a significant impact in the field. The award is given every two years to at most two persons at a time. It was given for the first time in 2024 and the competition was quite strong. Congratulations to our two winners, Eunhye Song and Zeyu Zheng. The following quotes are from their nomination letters, slightly adapted.

“Professor Song’s research forms a rigorous, coherent and impactful attack on two important simulation problems and their interaction: input uncertainty and sim- ulation optimization in the presence of input uncertainty. She is a top leader in creating high-impact methods and software that quantify the error implied by input uncertainty.”

“Professor Zheng has focused on ways to model and characterize complex multi- variate empirical distributions and assess uncertainty in such characterizations. His research is of the highest quality, making outstanding theoretical contributions to simulation optimization and to modeling and simulating complex multivariate data with practical importance.”
