INFORMS Open Forum

I was asked by a colleague at another university how to share a job posting with the INFORMS community, but I see that job postings are no longer supposed to go in the Open Forum. Where can one post job postings to make the INFORMS community aware of these opportunities?

• "We're now asking members to share job announcements only in the Available Positions community, rather than the Open Forum. All members automatically have access to this community."
• "Importantly, we strongly encourage you to use the INFORMS Career Center instead of or in addition to the Available Positions community. The Career Center offers much wider exposure to active job seekers as well as additional career-related resources."

A quick guide showing how to access "Available Positions" follows.

1. Navigate to https://connect.informs.org.
- Go to Step 2 if you have logged in.
- Otherwise, you should see a screen like this. Click "Log in".

2. Under the name badge which is in dark gray or black, you should see the section "My Communities Quick List".
- Click "Available Positions" and go to Step 4 if you see it.
- Otherwise, click "View all communities" and go to Step 3.

3. Click "Available Positions". You might need to scroll down a bit depending on your situation.

4. Click the tab "Discussion" and "Post New Message" (a button in blue).

(Indeed, there is a shortcut. After logging in, you should see a screen like that in Step 2. Click "Create" at the top-right corner and then "Discussion Thread".  A form should be there for you to make a post. Make sure you are posting to "Available Positions" and you can then post as usual!)
