What's the one food that takes you back to your childhood? My aunt made a pasta casserole with a rather unfortunate name - gunk. I still make it, and every time I do, I think of spending fun weekends at her house.

Beef stew.  My mother made it, and I always loved it.  And still today, even though I am not into cooking, I can buy Irish Stew at Costco, or Dinty Moore canned beef stew and get the same good feelings.   If I'm stressed, a bowl of it will take away the blues.  I won't give it credit for solving problems, though!

Cookies. 100%. I could eat a whole packet of Oreos, no problem.

Pizza is a food that takes me back. "Pie night" on Saturday night at the Nanuet Restaurant was a gathering of friends and family

My go-to comfort food is chicken pot pie. I had one every holiday season at the now-defunct, Marshall Fields in Chicago.

My grandma made them from scratch and I loved them.

My pick is Chocapic (a.k.a. KokoKrunch). When it was Saturday or Sunday, my parents gave me a big bowl of this with some milk as breakfast; I watched Kamen Rider (a Japanese superhero TV series for teens) while eating.  This is also my way to tell the day of week w/o looking at a calendar. Yeah, Chocapic = Weekend!

I make a shrimp and spicy cajun cheese grits that is great at any time, but especially during cold weather.
