About the Military and Security Society

Within MAS, we have many great opportunities to:

  1. Gather as a community with a common focus.
    • We look forward to seeing you at the MAS Business Meeting and Social at the INFORMS Annual Meeting, in the hallways at other INFORMS conferences, and online during occasional MAS virtual events.
  2. Learn from other members and their expertise
    • In addition to the MAS sessions at INFORMS meetings, we also host periodic MAS virtual events (e.g., Book Club Meetings, Webinars) to hear from and engage with colleagues presenting award-winning and cutting-edge research. We also have MAS Special Interest Groups, where we are looking for volunteers within MAS to build sub-communities for networking and professional development.
  3. Share our own work and experiences
    • We want and welcome your contributions!  Look to the MAS Discussions via INFORMS Connect for calls for both session chairs and presenters within the MAS clusters at the INFORMS Annual Meeting, the Winter Simulation Conference, and other major INFORMS events.
  4. Recognize excellence and achievement
  5. Serve with research and analysis that advances global security-related endeavors.
    • Our members serve their sponsors, customers and clients with research and analysis that is typically related to global security domains (defense, energy, cyber, etc.).
