Hello all, I had the opportunity to attend Dr.Kendra C. Taylor's insightful webinar, "Find Your Superpower: Unleash the Power of Analytics" on October 17th. The main theme of the webinar was that analytics is not solely for business use; it can be leveraged for social causes across different sectors. She discussed about how she found her passion to use analytics to prevent human trafficking, and outlined a framework to find meaning from any position/project that we would undertake.
One of the key initiatives Dr. Taylor highlighted was INFORMS Pro Bono Analytics, which connects analytics professionals with nonprofit organizations in need of data-driven solutions. This program has enabled many organizations, such as Chalkbeat, to enhance their data management and operations through the expertise of volunteers.
Dr. Taylor also introduced us to INFORMS Editor's Cut, a curated collection of expert insights in operations research and analytics. It's an excellent resource for staying updated on the latest trends and developments in our field.
Additionally, she discussed TechSoup, a platform that offers discounted technology tools for nonprofits, helping them upgrade their resources without overspending.
Finally, she also shared valuable resources to improve our sales skills, including works by Jim Rohn and Brian Tracy, who offer excellent motivational advice and training materials on goal-setting and closing sales.
