    Conference Overview

    The Michigan Ross Workshop on Unstructured Data and Language Models in Operations, Technology and Management is an interdisciplinary workshop aimed at bringing together researchers from diverse fields to showcase and explore the latest research advancements at the intersection of natural language processing, generative AI, unstructured data, and theoretical, empirical, and experimental studies in Operations, Technology and Information Systems, Management, and related fields. The Conference offers a unique platform for sharing insights, fostering collaborations, and advancing the state of knowledge in this rapidly evolving eld.

    The workshop will be held on Monday, July 20, 2026 at Ross School of Business, University of Michigan. You can find the workshop website here

    This year, the workshop will be immediately followed  by the 2026 INFORMS Revenue Management and Pricing Conference also held at Ross School of Business, University of Michigan from July 21-23, 2026. If you plan to attend both, please register separately on the respective conference website. 

    We look forward to your contributions and your participation in our workshop as we explore the exciting possibilities that unstructured data oer to the elds of operations, management, and technology.

    Workshop Topics

    We welcome submissions of original research work on, but not limited to, the following topics:

    • Value of unstructured data, such as text, image, and video, in providing new research insights in Operations, Information Systems, Management, and related fields.
    • Theory and applications of natural language processing (NLP) and text analytics tools.
    • Theory and applications of large language models (LLM).
    • Theoretical, empirical and behavioral research on the AI's impact on business and societal outcomes.
    • Human and AI collaboration
    • Ethical considerations in NLP, AI, and unstructured data usage in business and organizations.

    Submission Procedure

    Please submit either full paper or extended abstract. The submission deadline is March 27, Friday, 2026. All submissions and inquires can be sent to MichiganRoss.nlp@umich.edu.
