INFORMS is saddened to share the passing of a long-time member of the INFORMS community, Martin K. Starr. Martin is recognized as a visionary leader in the adoption of production and operations management (POM) as an academic discipline. He served as editor-in-chief of the INFORMS journal Management Science, received the INFORMS George E. Kimball Medal, and served as president of The Institute of Management Sciences (TIMS), one of the predecessor organizations of INFORMS. Learn more about Martin Starr and his many contributions here.
