Our manufacturing industries are facing biggest roadblocks that hinders their creativity and skills to produce quality products and sell to the customers or bring to the market.

Root cause of the problems are the ISO 9001/ISO 9000 and SPC (statistical process control) stands on the way hindering the creativity and manufacturing excellence of the producers. ISO quality standard is a top-level management document that dictates to do things according to the standard without any mention about a guide or to say what to do and how to do. There is a misconnect or gap in communication between the two levels of management that creates problem. SPC is another nonsense, waste of time and money of the manufacturer. It is an after the fact process control technique, data dependent process control technique. This is an old technique developed during the World War II when the technology was in the primitive stage. Today technology have advanced so much and there is no room for such an antiquated tool. Manufacturers usually use NC, CNC automatic machines, they can program the machines according to the customer defined engineering drawing and specification.

We had our own standard to control the design, manufacturing, supplier management etc. it is MIL-Q-9858 and there are sub standards to define: calibration, disposition of rejected materials, supplier control etc. When our top-level management failed to address and define quality, British took all our standards and came up with their own ISO standard and created a scheme to make money.

Now we have a technology that works as a road map to tell what to do how to do and addresses all the attributes of quality into the manufacturing process. It is a Hybrid Technology, helps to review and define all the elements needed to build quality products, that product is called "Industrial Statistics". It is purely for manufacturing industries only, there is no need of SPC when used industrial statistics. There are tremendous cost savings and helps to build quality into the process.

Another system is the "Transformational Quality Management System". It is a simple system that tells what to do and how to do things, it is a guide not a dictatorship type of document.

We are in the twenty-first century, living with technology, let us give priority to technology. These two technologies will help manufacturing industries perform to the next higher level, it is a game changer.
