The Data Mining (DM) Society of INFORMS invites undergraduate students who are engaged in data mining research to showcase their work at the INFORMS DMDA Workshop on Oct 19, 2024.  This event aims to promote the participation of excellent undergraduate researchers,  recognize their outstanding achievements, and provide networking opportunities.

Two outstanding applicants will be selected to present their research to the Data Mining (DM) Society. Each selected applicant will receive a $500 travel grant from the INFORMS DEI Ambassador program. The selected applicants will be recognized at the DM Town Hall with a participation award.

     Eligibility Requirements:

    • Applicants must be undergraduate students at the time of submission.

    • Applicants are required to submit a research poster to the DMDA Workshop Preparation Committee by August 15, 2024, 11:59 PM, Mountain time. The selection of the participants will be based on the evaluation of the poster. The poster must be an original work conducted primarily by the undergraduate student.

    • To be considered for support and the award, the applicants must confirm that they will be presenting their poster in-person at the DMDA workshop if selected. The participants are highly encouraged to give an additional oral presentation on their research in a regular session at the DMDA workshop.

    • Registration for the INFORMS 2024 annual meeting is required, and the registration fee for the DMDA workshop will be waived for the participants.
