We are delighted to announce the launch of a new college within the Production and Operations Management Society (POMS): the College of Operations in AI, Platforms, and Exponential Technologies (OAPEX).
OAPEX is dedicated to advancing rigorous research, innovative education, and community-building at the intersection of operations management, artificial intelligence, digital platforms, and exponential technologies. These technologies-along with platform-based business models-are characterized by rapid innovation, declining marginal costs, and increasing scalability, with the potential to fundamentally reshape operational systems, organizational decision-making, and market ecosystems.
The mission of OAPEX is to provide a focused intellectual home within POMS for scholars working in, or aspiring to contribute to, these fast-evolving domains. The college will support a wide range of activities, including research collaborations, dedicated mini-conferences and sessions at POMS meetings, keynote talks by leading scholars and industry practitioners, and digital initiatives that enable sustained engagement and knowledge exchange.
We warmly invite members of the INFORMS community to join OAPEX and play an active role in shaping this exciting new college. The fee to join is just $15, and you can log in to your profile in POMS to get your membership.
