    2022 Award Committee:

Tinglong Dai (chair), Johns Hopkins University

    Karan Girotra, Cornell University

Pinar Keskinocak, Georgia Institute of Technology

    Hau Lee, Stanford University

    Serguei Netessine, University of Pennsylvania

The Chelliah Sriskandarajah Early Career Research Accomplishments Award (previously known as the "Wickham Skinner Early Career Research Accomplishments Award") aims to shape the development of the field of operations management through recognizing and rewarding academics who have achieved exceptionally high accomplishments early in their careers.

An "Early-Career Researcher" is defined as someone who has received a doctoral (or its equivalent outside of the USA) within the last six years. According to this definition, for the 2022 Award, 2015 is the starting year for inclusion. Given that the Award was not offered in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the POMS leadership decided to make a one-time exception and accept applications for the 2022 Award from those who received their doctoral in or after 2014.

Because we received an unusually large number of excellent applications, the award committee decided to recognize more awardees than in a typical year. This allows exceptional 2014 graduates to be recognized without crowding out less seasoned applicants.

Following a rigorous award selection process, we are pleased to announce the following recipients of the 2022 POMS Early Career Research Accomplishments Award:

    Co-Winners:

    • Ruomeng Cui (PhD, Northwestern University, 2014), Associate Professor at Emory University

    • Hummy Song (PhD, Harvard University, 2017), Assistant Professor at the University of Pennsylvania

    • Dennis Zhang (PhD, Northwestern University, 2016), Associate Professor at Washington University in St. Louis

    Runner-up:

    • Shiliang Cui (PhD, University of Pennsylvania, 2014), Associate Professor at Georgetown University

Please join us in congratulating the awardees on their exceptional early-career research achievements. We would also like to thank the POMS leadership, the broadly defined OM community, as well as all of the applicants, nominators, and letter writers, for their support of this award.
