    The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison invites applicants for a tenure-track or tenured faculty position beginning August 2020 or later to complement our existing research programs in manufacturing and production systems, decision sciences/operations research, health systems engineering, and human factors.

    At this time, we are specifically interested in candidates who can contribute to our department's vision of building, analyzing, and leveraging smart and interconnected systems, with a focus on data analytics for industrial applications. Specific research areas of interest include but are not limited to industrial data analytics theory and algorithms for system modeling, analysis, and optimization, including product/process/service design and optimization; system automation and process control; human-technology and human-robot interaction; autonomy and decision support in smart cities and communities, and the security of cyber-physical industrial systems. Industrial domains of interest include, but are not limited to, advanced manufacturing, energy, healthcare, transportation, service, and sociotechnical systems.

    Applicants should have an outstanding academic record, exceptional potential for creative research, and a commitment to both undergraduate and graduate education in industrial and systems engineering. Applicants are expected to create and maintain a strong program of research, provide classroom and individual training for undergraduate and graduate degree-seeking students, and contribute to the intellectual and academic life of the department. University and professional service will be expected as appropriate.
