    Peng Wei is an assistant professor at George Washington University Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering with courtesy appointments in Computer Science and Electrical and Computer Engineering. With methods from control, optimization, machine learning and artificial intelligence, he develops autonomy and decision support tools for aviation, aeronautics and robotics. His recent focus is on safety and scalability of the decision making in uncertain, dynamic and complex environments.

    Prof. Wei is leading the Intelligent Aerospace Systems Lab (IASL) at GWU. He received his PhD degree in Aerospace Engineering from Purdue University in 2013 and his bachelor degree in Automation from Tsinghua University in 2007. He is an Associate Editor of AIAA Journal of Aerospace Information Systems. There will be two PhD positions and one Post Doc position open in his group starting from Spring 2022. The PhD positions can be under one of any three departments (MAE, CS or ECE). Motivated students with excellent mathematical background and strong programming skills are encouraged to apply.
