RAS presents - LiDAR for Railroads: Mathematics and Use Cases

When:  Feb 22, 2023 from 10:00 to 11:00 (ET)

Railroads in North America are taking LiDAR surveys of their rights-of-way with increasing frequency. In some cases, the surveys are being performed for a single purpose, and coverage limited to applicable locations. In other cases, entire routes are surveyed, and the raw data potentially usable for multiple purposes related to right-of-way maintenance and rail asset management. In this presentation, Mr. Schlenker will introduce the subject, and Mr. Rusinek will describe the methodology used to turn point clouds into insights usable by railroad personnel. The presenters will then discuss use cases and take questions.
