Join us for the 2025 INFORMS Minority Issues Forum (MIF) Summer Webinar Competition, where ten outstanding Ph.D. students will present innovative, high-impact research addressing todayโs most pressing societal and operational challenges.
In this single 90-minute session, presentations will explore cutting-edge research at the intersection of operations research and social impact. Topics on algorithmic fairness include AI self-preferencing in hiring tools and privacy-preserving strategies for health data sharing. In healthcare access, students will present models for improving rural primary care in Colombia and equitable vaccine distribution during epidemics. Several talks address food system equity, including analyses of food distribution using Gini and Hoover indices, nutritional fairness in food banks, and spatial access metrics for underserved areas. The session also features innovations in modeling and optimization, from semiconductor reliability prediction using finite element analysis to scalable clustering algorithms and strategies for managing information in omnichannel service systems.
