Overview:
As part of the INFORMS Research Seminar Series, the PRIDE Forum is excited to host Dr. Helena Maria Fornwagner for a presentation of her latest research on the effects of gender-inclusive language (GIL) on economic behavior.

Dr. Fornwagner’s study examines whether language that avoids the masculine “default” affects competitiveness, leadership decisions, and perceptions of inclusion. Across more than 2,000 participants and in both English and German, the study finds that short-term use of gender-inclusive language does not significantly change competitive behavior, leadership choices, or feelings of inclusion, challenging common assumptions about its immediate impact.
