Yet amid the hype, one truth stands firm: AI must augment-not replace-human judgment. The most resilient SOCs are those where humans and machines learn from one another, collaborating to detect, triage, and respond with precision. Drawing on my Commitment–Preparedness–Discipline (CPD) framework, we discuss how to responsibly embed AI into SOC workflows, attract and retain top cyber talent, and avoid pitfalls such as single-tool dependencies or "outsourcing and forgetting."
