Dear colleagues,
The INFORMS Computing Society requests proposals for the 2027 INFORMS Computing Society Conference, which is planned for March 2027 (exact dates to be finalized).
Submission instructions
- For full consideration, proposals must be received by 20 March 2026.
Please address the items below in your proposal:
1. Organizing team
a) Who will serve as conference chair(s)?
b) Who else will be on the organizing committee, and what roles will they take?
2. Dates and location
a) What dates and what city/venue are you proposing?
b) Why is the location appealing and practical for the potential attendees (travel access, cost, and general attractiveness to attendees)?
3. Conference vision and theme
a) What is the proposed theme/focus? Why is it timely and compelling?
4. Capacity and feasibility
Recent conferences have drawn approximately 120–200 participants with up to 5 parallel sessions. Please describe whether your venue can support this scale, including:
a) Availability and estimated pricing for meeting space on the proposed dates.
b) Nearby hotel capacity and expected room rates on the proposed dates.
5. Social events.
What social events are feasible, and what venues would you use (reception, dinner, off-site options, etc.)?
6. Budget.
Please provide a preliminary budget that reflects major cost drivers, such as meeting space, catering (coffee breaks/lunch), staffing, social events (including food/beverage), and any transportation.
7. Financial plan / sponsorship. With a target registration fee around $500–$600, what level of corporate and/or host-institution support would be needed to break even?
