    Hi,
I'm Rob M. A new member here. I do not work at this present time; however, I am seeking full time employment. I am a retired executive chef who just as the pandemic occurred, I decided to change careers. I have recently graduated with a BS in Management Information Systems and Business Analytics with a specialization in Project Management.
I am hoping to earn an aCAP certification since I only have textbook experience in business analytics. After that, as I will learn as much as I can in the industry, as I am a sponge now.
Fun fact: I was once a drummer for a non-professional rock-jazz fusion band in the Chicago area. I look back at those fun times and wonder if we would have ever mad to it to the show, however, new dreams were created instead.

    Thank you,

    Rob Mingus

Welcome, Rob, that is quite a change from chef to operations research. You may find that some of the tasks of being an executive chef use queuing and game theory. May I ask which texts you are reading to learn about business analytics? One leading book is Operations Research: Applications and Algorithms

    Enjoy your membership here.

Welcome! I know a Food Scientist who switched to an Analytics/Data Science Career.

To help with your job search the book "Build a Career in Data Science" by Emily Robinson, Jacqueline Nolis is a really good practical guide for laying the foundation and how to navigate the various (and ever changing) opportunities out there.

Also...I think you qualify to participate in the Early Career Professional Network (ECPN) at the Analytics Conference. I would highly encourage you to apply when the 2023 details when are ready. I believe travel and conference fee is covered for ECPN participatants.
