    Posted 5 days ago

We are inviting applications for the new Job Market Showcase Track at the 2026 INFORMS Annual Meeting in San Francisco from November 1-4, 2026.  This is a new INFORMS initiative that was piloted last year with resounding success, resulting in 74 highlighted sessions featuring job market candidate talks. The goal of the job market showcase track was to centrally organize the scheduling of technical talks by senior PhD students, postdocs, and recent PhD graduates who anticipate going on the job market during the 2026-2027 academic year.

Why participate? This track will continue to be organized with high visibility at the 2026 INFORMS Annual Meeting:

    • Four talks per session scheduled primarily from Sunday through Tuesday morning of the conference,

    • Highlighted in the conference program booklet,

    • Makes it easier for potential employers to attend talks by job candidates.

To be eligible, an applicant must:

    1. Be a current member of INFORMS.

    2. Be a current postdoc or PhD student (with anticipated completion date by summer 2027), or have received a PhD degree within the past 2 years (i.e., not prior to 2024).

    3. Expect to be searching for an academic or industry job during the 2026-2027 academic year.

    4. Agree to adhere to the INFORMS Annual Meeting one-talk policy.  That is, per Annual Meeting rules, a speaker in the Job Market Showcase track may not be a speaker of another technical talk or poster at the conference.

    5. We expect every submitted talk that meets the eligibility criteria to be scheduled within the job market showcase sessions.

Applications are due by April 30, 2026.

To apply, an interested INFORMS member should fill out the form in the INFORMS abstract submission, linked below, and mark this talk as a "Job Talk".

    https://submissions.mirasmart.com/InformsAnnual2026/Splash.aspx

The form asks several questions about the registrant to verify eligibility, a brief bio, title, abstract, and the type of job they are interested in. It also asks for a supervisor's contact information, and the supervisor will be emailed to submit a brief letter verifying the candidate's eligibility to the email: JobTalks@informs.org by April 30th

Questions should be directed to the track co-chairs Swati Gupta and Lacy Greening at JobTalks@informs.org.

    Best,
    Swati Gupta and Lacy Greening.
