I'm excited to share a new initiative: Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) Day!
Sponsored by the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE) Council of Fellows, this annual event is dedicated to increasing awareness of ISE and inspiring the next generation of engineers. Many ISEs are part of the INFORMS community. This effort can increase exposure to operations research with your help.
The first ISE Day will be celebrated on September 15, 2025 (and annually on September 14, except when it falls on a weekend). Your help is needed to make this a successful inaugural event.
How You Can Participate
Here are a few ways you can join in:
- Share your ISE story. Post on your social media accounts (LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, etc.) about why you chose ISE or how it has helped your career. Remember to use the hashtags #ISEday and #ISEday2025.
- Promote ISE. Share videos and resources with your network. INFORMS and IISE have some great options:
- Organize a gathering. Plan an ISE event at your organization, department, or student chapter.
- Pledge to visit a school. Commit to visiting a K-12 school to promote ISE and operations research.
For more information and resources on how to get involved, check out the official ISE Day website: Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers - ISE Day (2025) and the ISE Day Participation Guide.
Thank you for helping us celebrate and promote industrial and systems engineering and operations research!
