Dear Colleagues:
What do INFORMS publications do? As the VP of Publications completing my first term, I have had the privilege of working with Matt Walls (director of publications) over the past two years, and I can explain our role.
Authors submit their papers to our 17 journals, where they are reviewed by our dedicated review team and editorial boards. While Matt and I do not get directly involved in the review process, we actively listen to our INFORMS members to find ways to improve our process and create more value for our community.
Matt and I collaborate with all 17 Editors-in-Chief, managing editors, publication committee members, and board members to explore and implement improvements. The article below provides a glimpse of our efforts, and there is still much more to be done. (Special thanks to Kara Tucker for helping me publish this piece before year-end.) In this piece, we explain what we have been trying to do to improve the transparency and fairness in INFORMS publications.

Yes, the process is arduous, but we are committed to serving you. I am grateful for your vote of confidence, allowing me to serve for another two years.
With your support, we are making progress.
Thank you! May the holiday season bring you love, joy, and peace!
