Hello everyone,
We are excited to invite you to participate in the HOPE Research Workshop. The HOPE Workshop brings together faculty and graduate students to exchange ideas, share research, and explore the evolving challenges at the forefront of humanitarian operations. As the field faces increasing complexity-from severe funding disruptions and the aftermath of USAID's termination to the escalating impacts of climate change, food insecurity, and armed conflicts-the workshop creates space for thoughtful dialogue and collaboration. By connecting emerging and established scholars, HOPE fosters a growing global community dedicated to advancing research and practice in humanitarian operations.
This event will bring together researchers and practitioners for a series of collaborative sessions, including an evening reception, full-day workshops, and a guided tour. The workshop will feature two presentation formats: A 30-minute full paper presentation, followed by a 20-minute discussion with Q&A; and a 10-minute short abstract presentation.
Agenda:
Thu, 9/24 - Evening Reception
Fri, 9/25 - Full day session with breakfast, lunch, and dinner
Sat, 9/26 - Morning session with lunch (8-12) followed by optional campus tour
Please register for the event by July 15, 2026. If you are going to submit a paper to present you will be able to enter the required information and upload a copy of the paper as part of registration. Spaces are limited so only a select number of papers will be accepted for presentation. We anticipate that we will make final selections of papers in late July / early August.
Sincerely,
Chengcheng Zhai
