    Was our universe always in the present form, with lives, nature etc.? Or did we go through several transformations? Most of us are aware of the Big Bang theory, almost 20 billion years ago, which is also assumed as the birth of universe. But what happened in the first few minutes after the event?

    This is the subject of the classic work by physicist, Steven Weinberg ;

    The First Three Minutes; a modern view of the origin of universe

    This is a gentle read for nontechnical audience who are puzzled about the early moments of our universe.
    Please feel free to share your thoughts about this work.

    Jayant,

    I'm puzzled by the promotion of The First Three Minutes here, since it doesn't appear to have any clear connection to the purposes of this INFORMS forum. The book, first published in 1993, may be a classic of its genre, but without context, it feels out of place.

    If the intent is to point to origin theories, I might also suggest starting with Genesis, the first book of the Torah and the Christian Bible. It offers a more enduring reflection on the beginnings of the universe, life, and humanity, and continues to resonate even alongside contemporary scientific theory.

    So we don't continue the distraction here, feel free to message me if you'd like references to peer-reviewed scientific interpretations that align with Genesis.

    The "link" to the first three minutes isn't clickable.   I spent more than three minutes trying to figure out why.   :-)
