    The Institute for Operations Research and Management Science (INFORMS) Minority Issues Forum (MIF) invites submissions for its 9th annual paper competition.

    Submissions for the competition will be accepted through May 31, 2024 and should satisfy the following criteria:

    ·       The paper must have been accepted or published on or after January 1, 2022 in a research publication in the field of operations research, management science, or information systems. There are no other restrictions on the topic of the paper.

    ·       The lead author must be a current INFORMS MIF member at the time of submission. MIF considers the lead author to be the first author or the corresponding author.

    ·       The paper must be written in the English language.

    ·       Submissions should be mailed to the INFORMS MIF email address (mif.informs@gmail.com) and should include:

    o   Name, affiliation, and contact information for the corresponding author

    o   Bibliographic reference and a PDF file of the paper

    o   A cover letter that describes the relative contributions of each author of the paper as well as the impact of the paper within its respective theoretical field and/or application area

    The competition committee will judge each paper on the basis of the originality of the research, technical rigor, relevance to future theory and applications, and the quality of the written content. The competition committee will notify the finalists by July 26, 2024, including an invitation to present in a dedicated session at the 2024 INFORMS Annual Meeting in Seattle, WA, and recognition at the INFORMS MIF Business Meeting. A cash prize and commemorative plaque or certificate will be awarded to the winner.
