    Dear Decision Analysis Society Members,

You may have already seen the sad news about the passing of Daniel Kahneman, at the age of 90.

His impact on us all and on our field had been immense.  I recall the day in October 2002, my first ever LSE MSc class,  taught by Larry Phillips and Daniel Read,  when Danny won the Nobel Prize.  I knew then and there I wanted to become an expert in Decision Analysis and build on his insightful work.

As Laura Albert just posted to the INFORMS community,  Daniel Kahneman's ideas are covered in every decision analysis course. We have also recognized him with the Frank P. Ramsey Medal and a Decision Analysis publication award.

You can read his obituary in the Washington Post and the New York Times.

We are also planning a session in his honor at the 2024 Advances in Decision Analysis Conference in Finland.  More details will be shared soon.

    Yael
