Laura, thank you for sharing this. It's truly sad news. As a psychologist, I felt immense pride in his work and his remarkable achievement of winning the Nobel Prize in economics. His insights, especially his perspective on sunk costs, always bring a smile to my face. I remember a story in about how he handled movies he didn't enjoy and he would simply leave. When people objected, noting he had already paid, his response was great: "They already have my money; I won't give them more of my time."

I am sad to announce the death of Daniel Kahneman, who passed away at age 90. His contributions to economics and the psychology of decision-making were recognized with the Nobel Prize and are covered in every decision analysis course. INFORMS recognized Kahneman with the Frank P. Ramsey Medal and a Decision Analysis publication award. You can read an obituary in the Washington Post.
