Dear colleagues,<u1:p></u1:p>
You are cordially invited to submit research papers to the LOCATION INTELLIGENCE TRACK at the Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences (HICSS-58, Big Island HI, Jan 7-10, 2025). <u1:p></u1:p>
HICSS is known worldwide as one of the longest-standing working scientific conferences in Information Technology Management. HICSS provides a highly interactive working environment for top scholars from academia and industry from over 60 countries to exchange ideas in various areas of information, computer, and system sciences. Papers published in HICSS proceedings have been cited extensively across a spectrum of disciplines for many years.<u1:p></u1:p>
Location Analytics has emerged as an important set of concepts, tools, and techniques with increasingly critical applications in the private, public, and non-profit sectors. Fueled by advances in AI, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology, rising adoption of IoT, and an increasing demand for geospatial software services in various sectors and industries, the global market for location analytics is projected to grow from USD 78.5 billion in 2023 to USD 141.9 billion in 2028 at a CAGR of 12.4% (MarketsandMarkets, 2024).<u1:p></u1:p>
This year, the Location Intelligence Track has the following four mini-tracks, described in detail in the Track Description on the HICSS-58 Website.<u1:p></u1:p>
- GEOSPATIAL BIG DATA ANALYTICS (Chair: Dr. Joe Aversa, Toronto Metropolitan University, javersa@torontomu.ca)
- LOCATION ANALYTICS, SUSTAINABILITY, AND CLIMATE ACTION (Co-Chairs: Dr. Namchul Shin, Pace University, nshin@pace.edu & Dr. Dan Farkas, Pace University, dfarkas@pace.edu)
- LOCATION ANALYTICS RESEARCH IN SYSTEM SCIENCES (Co-Chairs: Dr. James Pick, University of Redlands, james_pick@redlands.edu & Dr. Avijit Sarkar, University of Redlands, avijit_sarkar@redlands.edu)
- GEOIMPACT: GEOSPATIAL TECHNOLOGIES FOR SOCIAL GOOD (Co-Chairs: Dr. Asish Satpathy, Arizona State University, asatpat2@asu.edu, Dr. Michael Erskine, Middle Tennessee State University, michael.erskine@mtsu.edu, and Dr. Andres Diaz Lopez, Arizona State University, adiazlop@asu.edu)
Accepted papers will be fast-tracked for a Special Issue in the journal Papers in Applied Geography (Taylor & Francis), tentatively titled "Empowering Decision-Making with Location Intelligence: Innovations and Applications in Applied Geography."<u1:p></u1:p>
