    Dear INFORMS Community Members,

The INFORMS Education Outreach Committee – Graduate Committee is organizing a pilot virtual roundtable series, Career Pathways Roundtables, to provide INFORMS student members with an informal and supportive space to ask questions, hear from members with different experiences, and learn about a variety of academic and professional pathways.

We are currently seeking speakers who are willing to share their career paths and experiences.

While many students have access to career resources through their institutions or local networks, some may wish to hear broader perspectives or ask questions outside their existing circles. We hope this series can complement existing efforts by creating a student-centered forum for open discussion and experience sharing.

Each session will focus on a specific topic and feature one (or more) invited speakers who will share their experiences and answer questions from students. Potential topics include:

    • Job searching and career preparation
    • Life as a faculty member, postdoc, teaching faculty member, national lab researcher, or industry professional, etc.
    • Networking and building professional connections
    • Applying to graduate school or postdoctoral positions
    • Transitioning from industry to academia
    • Work-life balance and long-term career planning

We will use the responses to identify topics of interest, invite potential speakers, and coordinate future sessions.

If you have any questions, please feel free to share them in the "Any questions?" section of the Topic & Speaker Suggestion Form. We will follow up with you.

Thank you for your time and kind support! We look forward to hearing from you.

    Best,
    Zihan
