Submission Guidelines and Review Process
Submission portal. According to M&SOM Main Conference Announcement
SIG and MSOM main conference. SIG authors who want their papers to be considered for the MSOM main conference presentation (in case of rejection by the SIG) should also submit an extended abstract to the MSOM main conference separately. Please indicate the corresponding SIG submission when submitting to the MSOM main conference. In this case, the SIG and the MSOM Conference will conduct independent reviews. The SIG-Day Event Co-Chairs will communicate their lists of accepted papers to the MSOM Conference Chairs so that accepted SIG-Day Event presentations may be removed from consideration for an MSOM Conference presentation slot.
Formatting requirements. Each paper should comply with MSOM journal's formatting standards: https://pubsonline.informs.org/page/MSOM/submission-guidelines.
Number of submissions. The same work can be presented only once during the entire conference period. Therefore, please do not submit the same work to multiple SIGs. Also, each attendee is limited to one submission for the MSOM conference, one submission for each SIG Meeting, and two presentations during the entire conference period.
MSOM Journal and SIG Dual Purpose Submission
Authors can choose from two distinct submission options for SIGs, each following a separate review and decision process. The first option is the traditional SIG review option while the second option allows a dual submission to MSOM journal.
● Option 1: Single Purpose-SIG-Day presentation
○ Review Process: Handled by SIG-Day Event Co-chairs in SIG review form
○ Decision makers: SIG-Day Event Co-chairs
● Option 2: Dual Purposes-(1) SIG-Day presentation, (2) 1st round review (1RR) by MSOM Journal
○ Eligibility: Papers not under review at any other journals.
○ Review Process: Handled by MSOM Journal review team in MSOM format with the addition of a SIG review scorecard
○ Decision makers:
■ SIG Day Presentation Decisions are made by SIG-Day Co-chairs
■ MSOM Journal Decisions are made by MSOM DEs
○ Decision:
■ SIG Day Presentation and MSOM Journal Decisions are independent but utilize the same MSOM referee reports and scorecards
■ Papers recommended for Major Revision continue at MSOM with the same review team.
■ Papers not recommended for Major Revision at MSOM may be submitted to MSOM as new submissions.
Sincerely yours,
