Dear Colleagues,
Chunjie Zhao and I are inviting 2-3 presentations for our session, Data-Driven Insights for Public Sector Operations, under the PSOR section at the 2025 INFORMS Annual Meeting.
This session brings together empirical research at the intersection of operations research and public policy, with a particular emphasis on real-world applications across critical public sector domains. We highlight studies that draw from archival administrative or operational datasets and use experimental or quasi-experimental methods to evaluate the design, implementation, and societal outcomes of public sector operations. We welcome contributions across diverse areas, including public health (e.g., healthcare delivery, disease control, and emergency response), public infrastructure (e.g., transportation and utilities management), government service delivery (e.g., social services and education), and sustainable operations (e.g., waste management and environmental conservation). Through interdisciplinary dialogue and innovative empirical methods, the session will contribute to the growing field of data-driven public sector research while aiming to provide insights into societal well-being through improved public sector operations and policy.
