Second INFORMS Information Systems Society Doctoral Consortium

    Call for Participation

The INFORMS Information Systems Society (ISS) invites doctoral students researching Information Systems and related fields to participate in its Second Doctoral Consortium. This half-day event will be held on Friday afternoon, October 24, 2025, immediately preceding the Conference on Information Systems and Technology (CIST) and INFORMS Data Science Workshop in Atlanta, GA.

Participants will have the opportunity to:

    • Engage with a diverse panel of senior faculty mentors on research topics, teaching strategies, and job-market preparation.
    • Receive in-depth feedback on dissertation research and progress.
    • Build professional connections and expand networks within the IS research community and beyond.

We welcome applications from all PhD students, although preference will be given to students in the dissertation phase of their PhD program (typically in their 4th or 5th year in the PhD program). Selection criteria include research novelty, diversity of research topics, and capacity.

Application Requirements: Each applicant must submit one application that comprises the following four items, combined into one PDF file:

    • Cover letter
    • Applicant CV
    • 5-page abstract of dissertation research
    • Nomination letter from advisor (no more than one nominee per advisor)

To apply, please complete the Google form https://forms.gle/pbdGLzAFiZjj4g9x9 by Sunday, June 30, 2025 (11:59p.m. Pacific Time). Applicants will be notified of decisions by Monday, August 18, 2025. There is no registration fee for this event.

Please contact Professor Jingjing Li at Jingjing.Li@virginia.edu, University of Virginia McIntire School of Commerce, if you have any questions regarding the event. We look forward to your participation in this exciting opportunity to engage with peers and mentors in the IS research community!
