    Dear Colleagues,

A gentle reminder for the 2023 Early-career Sustainable Operations Workshop will be held at the Isenberg School of Management, University of Massachusetts Amherst during the last weekend of February 2023 (2/25–2/26). The workshop aims to provide research presentation and networking opportunities for early-career scholars who work in sustainable operations management.

The program will follow a format similar to the in-person workshops in the previous years – there will be a reception on Friday (2/24) night, followed by a full day of presentations on Saturday (2/25), and a half day of presentations on Sunday (2/26). Similar to previous years, there will be a registration fee of 100 USD per person.

The program committee this year includes Priyank Arora (University of South Carolina), Hamsa Bastani (University of Pennsylvania), and Senay Solak (University of Massachusetts Amherst). We are grateful for guidance from the steering committee, which includes Tim Kraft (NC State), Beril Toktay (Georgia Tech), and Safak Yucel (Georgetown).

We are inviting junior academics (untenured faculty) and PhD students who are interested in presenting to submit either:

    • a working paper to be considered for a full presentation, or
    • a one-page abstract on an exploratory topic to be considered for a flash talk

The latter category is ideal for individuals who are looking for early feedback or potential collaborators for foraying into a new topic. Please send your materials to 2023SustainableOM@gmail.com by December 7, 2022, noting who will present. Notice of acceptances will be sent by January 13, 2023. In addition, all full presentations will be eligible for a "People's Choice Award"; the winner(s) will be decided by crowd voting at the end of the workshop.

You may register for the workshop at this link: https://www.isenberg.umass.edu/calendar/early-career-sustainable-om-workshop. Also, to help plan your travel, please find some useful information in the attached document.

The workshop is generously supported by the Office of the Dean at Isenberg School of Management, and the Ray C. Anderson Center for Sustainable Business at the Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business.

Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you in Amherst MA!

    Regards,

    Priyank, Hamsa, and Senay

    (Program Committee)
