    Call for Nominations: 2023 APS Best Publication Award

    The Applied Probability Society of INFORMS invites nominations for its 2023 Best Publication Award. This award, which recognizes outstanding contributions to applied probability, consists of a plaque and $1000 It will be presented at the INFORMS Annual Meeting, Phoenix, AZ (October 15-18, 2023). To be eligible, the contribution (a book, paper, or set of papers) must meet the following criteria.

    • The contribution must be in the area of applied probability;
    • It must be written in English, or have an accurate English translation available;
    • It must have appeared in the open peer-reviewed literature with official publication date within the interval January 1, 2019, to December 31, 2022. In the case of a set of papers, one, or at most two, must be identified as the main contributions, and these must have appeared within the interval January 1, 2019, to December 31, 2022. All papers must have been accepted by the time of the nomination.
    • The contribution will be judged according to the extent to which it advances the state of the art, the theoretical or methodological originality, the depth and significance, the areas of application that it opens, and the clarity of the exposition. Past award winners can be found here:

    Nominations may be made by anyone, including the nominee. A nomination package consists of

    • A description of the contribution and its significance;
    • A copy of the nominated publication(s).

    The nominator should send the package to R. Srikant, rsrikant@illinois.edu.

    Nominations submitted before 11:59pm EST on April 1, 2023, will be given full consideration.
