We are excited to share that we are currently soliciting applications for undergraduate research opportunities in the USC Marshall Data Sciences and Operations (DSO) Summer Scholars Research Program! Please forward this advertisement to potentially interested parties.
The DSO Summer Scholars program consists of mentored undergraduate research and professional development. Prior projects, program activities, and other details can be found on the DSO Summer Scholars website. Interested students can submit applications via the form on the program webpage.
The priority deadline for this year is April 1, 2026, with an overall deadline of April 15, 2026.
This year, we're looking to select approximately four talented upper-level undergraduates from operations research, mathematics, computer science, statistics, industrial engineering, or another STEM field to name as Summer Scholars, funded by the DSO department. We especially encourage applications from southern California schools.
Selected participants will be invited to attend the annual "SoCal OR/OM Conference" and will be paired with a faculty mentor(s) in DSO for the summer to either serve as a research assistant or simply receive mentorship. The stipend for the summer is $5000 for 10 weeks for a research assistantship.
The dates for this year's program are May 29 through August 7, 2026.
Many thanks,
Andrew Daw and Vishal Gupta
