Business case added to the Decision Modeling textbook

I retired from Memorial University on August 31, 2024. In September, while cleaning out the 39 years of accumulated files in my office, I discovered a case that I had written in 1991, called Bonavista Kippers. Its solution involves the use of linear optimization to optimize a production plan for products made from herring. This case has now been embedded into my Decision Modeling textbook (a pdf file); the case appears on pages 282-287. Version 3.6.0 of Decision Modeling can be downloaded by anyone for free from: https://linney.mun.ca/pages/view.php?ref=36808.

I have created a 12-page teaching note for this case. If you are a faculty member who wishes to obtain this pdf file, please email me at dtulett@mun.ca using your academic email address. The teaching note may be shared with teaching assistants, but please do not release it to students or post it to a website.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in America!
