    Dear Colleagues,
I would like to invite you to attend this one-day (in-person or virtual) event - USAID LASER PULSE Research for Development Learning Summit.

LASER PULSE is a $70 Million 10-year program funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), led by Purdue University.  We have been working with USAID Missions and Operating Units to identify and conduct research to assist policy-making and future programming design to address global challenges in lower-and-middle-income countries (LMICs).  LASER PULSE covers all USAID sectors and regions. We currently have over 40 projects in 19 countries.  This learning summit will highlight the approach we took to design the research activities collaborating with research partners from different disciplines and regions, stakeholders, policymakers, and donors, to produce solutions that are relevant and usable.   We will showcase some of those translational research projects and their learning in education, food security and nutrition, economic growth, and private sector engagement in global development.  Please find the full agenda and speakers here.

    Date: Tuesday, May 02

Time: 8:00 AM to 05:00 PM (Eastern time)

In-Person Location: Ballroom at Blackburn Student Center, Howard University, Washington, D.C.

    Virtual Location: Zoom

    Registration is FREE but required.

There are many untapped areas and opportunities in global development for academic researchers and this event will share examples of how university faculty can contribute to addressing those challenges in the world.  Please feel free to contact me (yih@purdue.edu) if you would like more information.  I am looking forward to your participation.
    Warmest Regards,
    Yuehwern Yih
