As chair of the 2025 Franz Edelman Competition, I would like to encourage our members and their colleagues to submit a project for consideration for the Franz Edelman Award, the most prestigious prize that INFORMS offers. The purpose of the Franz Edelman competition is to bring forward, recognize and reward outstanding examples of operations research, management science, and advanced analytics in practice in the world. The deadline for submissions is October 1, 2024, at Noon Eastern time. It is not too early to start thinking about applying for the award now, and putting together an extended abstract that describes a successful project that has been implemented, realized benefits, has technical innovation, had implementation challenges, and is transportable.
