    Dear Members:

I'm pleased to share my latest piece for Analytics Magazine, "The Cryptographic Reckoning: Why Quantum Readiness Begins with Agility, Not Algorithms" (https://doi.org/10.1287/LYTX.2026.02.06).

The core argument: enterprises racing to pick a post-quantum algorithm are solving the wrong problem. The real vulnerability isn't algorithm choice - it's that most organizations lack the architectural and organizational capacity to change cryptographic systems at all, quickly and without disruption. "Harvest Now, Decrypt Later" attacks mean this exposure is already active today, not a future risk tied to when quantum computers mature.

I apply the Commitment-Preparedness-Discipline (CPD) framework to show why crypto agility is fundamentally a governance and leadership challenge, not a technical one - and lay out six practical first steps organizations can take, starting with cryptographic discovery and inventory.

This is my second piece for the magazine, following "The New Digital Fragility: How AI-Enhanced Cyber Threats Are Reshaping Operational Resilience" (published March 2026; https://doi.org/10.1287/LYTX.2026.01.06), which examined how AI is reshaping the threat landscape and what that means for operational resilience.

I'm glad to share that I'll be continuing this work as a recurring contributor - writing a quarterly column for Analytics Magazine (four pieces a year) focused on AI and cybersecurity governance. I look forward to using this space to explore how leaders can build durable, high-performance security and resilience capabilities in an AI-accelerated threat environment.

I'd welcome the community's thoughts and discussion - particularly on how your organizations are approaching (or struggling with) crypto agility and post-quantum readiness.

    Sincerely,

    Dave
