    Kühne Logistics University (KLU) in Hamburg, Germany seeks applications from qualified academics that would like to lead the KLU's academic efforts on Executive Education. We are particularly interested in recruiting a strong candidate with a background in fields such as logistics, transportation, supply chain management, general management, leadership, organizational behavior, marketing, strategy, innovation or adjacent fields relevant to a business school for a position of Professor (Open Rank) beginning any time over the next year.

    This new faculty position at KLU in Hamburg will be initially for a 3-year period and be renewable for another 3 years, after which time the faculty member will be up for tenure. These times can be different depending on the experience of the applicant and the level of the initial appointment.

    Candidates must have a PhD in a management discipline or in a related field and be well networked with industry contacts. Language of instruction is English. Although not a requirement, some knowledge of the German language would be a critical asset.

    The successful candidate should

    • develop and deliver programs in KLU Executive Education as well as teach in KLU's degree programs; have experience of innovative teaching formats and/or online learning; liaise with industry partners on promoting executive education,
    • be able to expand KLU's collaboration with industry internationally, within Germany and in the Hamburg region,
    • build up strong networks within industry and academia, and be willing to assist others at KLU in acquiring external funding,
    • publish their work in a manner which is appropriate for their specific field of research, preferable in collaboration with members of KLU's faculty,
    • complement the research activity at KLU with the objective of strengthening the institution's reputation for undertaking studies of relevance to practitioners,
    • contribute to institution building.
