    Contemporary OM in Developing Economies

    Call for Submissions

We invite submissions for the third annual webinar on Contemporary Operations Management in Developing Economies. The goal of this program is to connect with researchers in developing economies who may not be able to attend the INFORMS Annual Meeting in person. There are no restrictions on topics or research methods. To be eligible, submissions must meet the following conditions:

    ·       The research question must address a real challenge observed in a developing economy.

    ·       The presenter must be a researcher affiliated with a university or research center in a developing economy.[1]

Selected abstracts will be invited to submit a 10-minute recorded video presentation and participate in a 5-minute live Q&A session in English. The best presentations will receive an award from INFORMS. There is no fee to register, present, or attend this program. To summarize the key information:

    1.       An abstract limited to 1,000 words must be submitted by June 1, 2026, through https://informs-awards.secure-platform.com/a/solicitations/322/home (The format is outlined on the next page. Noncompliant abstracts will not be accepted.)

Submissions may consist of working papers in English or papers under review. However, they must not have been published or accepted for publication at the time of submission.

The corresponding author must be the same as the presenter, who should be located in a country considered a developing economy.

    2.       Acceptance notification: August 1, 2026

    3.       Video submission: September 20, 2026 (10-minute video)

    4.       Webinar: October 5–6, 2026

We look forward to your participation and to fostering connections and collaborations across the global research community. For any question, please reach out to Adriana Leiras (adriana.leiras@hanken.fi) or Mahyar Eftekhar (eftekhar@asu.edu).
