• The purpose of this competition is to identify and honor outstanding papers in the field of operations research and the management sciences written by a student.

• Brief description of committee responsibilities:
• Evaluations take place in several phases – bidding and at least two rounds of paper evaluations.
• Reading full set of submissions and evaluating based on policy document
• Participating in several conference calls to determine finalists.
• Attend the INFORMS Annual Meeting to take part in the onsite finalist presentations (recommended, not required)
• Skill set needed for selection committee:
• Flexibility of personal schedule to read and evaluate a variety of submissions
• Ability to evaluate submissions that may be outside of your primary research area
• Ability to deliberate in a collegial manner
• Flexibility to participate in conference calls during the work day
• Being able to share your evaluation opinions and advocate for submissions
