OR/MS Tomorrow announces its first-ever Student Writing Competition!
This competition encourages students to employ the art of story-telling by writing an article on any open topic in Operations Research and Management Science (OR/MS). Articles should be written to a broad OR/MS audience, should convey complex ideas in a simple format, and will be judged based on the writing style. Three winners will be chosen based on the novelty of topic, maturity of content, and writing style. In addition to cash prizes, the winning articles will be published in the Spring/Summer 2019 issue of OR/MS Tomorrow.

Deadline: June 15, 2019.

Submission requirements:

• The article must be original.
• The author (only one author per article) must be an INFORMS student member at the time of submission.
• The article must be typed, single-spaced, with 12-point font and 1-inch margins all around.
• The article should NOT exceed 1,000 words.
• Judging is blind, so the author must NOT include their name, address, email address or other identifying information in the article.
• Articles should be submitted via email to orms_tomorrow@mail.informs.org by 11:59 pm on June 15, 2019.

Prizes:

• The First place winner will receive $300 in cash.
• The Second place winner will receive $150 in cash.
• The Third place winner will receive $50 in cash.
