    Dear Colleagues,

We invite chapter contributions to the upcoming book on "Digital Supply Chain", to be published by Elsevier in Fall 2021 (Editors, MacCarthy & Ivanov).  The outline book structure is shown in the attached PDF file.

We are interested in contributions of different types. We particularly welcome contributions that provide an introduction and overview of a specific topic or area, as well as critical literature reviews with a relevant focus. We are also interested in overview chapters that cover technological developments in relevant areas. While overview and review chapters do not need to provide new research, they should be informative, written to a high standard, and appropriately referenced. In addition to overview and literature review articles, we very much welcome conceptual and theoretical contributions, case studies, and empirical studies, as well as relevant modeling and analytical studies that focus on problems of practical importance. You may also contact the Editors for enquiries about the suitability of any further related topics. Chapters will range from 7k to 10k words. The timelines are shown below.

The first step is to submit an outline of your contribution by the indicated deadline as a Word document to both Editors by emailing and

The outline should be structured as follows:

Title: Indicative title of the chapter

Area (up to 50 words): Please relate your contribution to one or more of the topics in the attached outline and/or indicate additional relevant themes within the overall digital supply chain scope of the book.

Summary (250 words): This should describe the type of the contribution, its primary focus and scope, and methodology, where relevant.

Please note there is no fee or charge for authors at any stage of publication.

Further details on the manuscript preparation will follow acceptance of your outline. Elsevier will provide copy editing support prior to publication.
