A New Look for INFORMS Journal Articles

With the start of the new year, INFORMS is pleased to present a fresh new design for articles appearing in our 14 journal publications.

Our new design improves the display of each article’s metadata—the “fingerprint” of an article’s bibliographic information, such as its title, authors, affiliations, and abstract, as well as peer review history, funding, subject classifications and/or keywords, copyright status, and supplemental material declarations and URLs. This streamlined display makes it easier to quickly identify articles of interest as well as permissions regarding reuse.

And not to be overlooked is the incorporation of INFORMS’ new logo!

In addition, recognizing that our journals are consumed overwhelmingly online, the electronic editions now make good use of color—specifically our “INFORMS blue”—for headings and reference links to improve overall readability and hierarchical presentation.

We will begin using this style January 3, 2017, and invite you to check our our first live example at http://dx.doi.org/10.1287/mnsc.2016.2593.  Any articles published in Articles in Advance under the previous design will be converted to the new style as they are assigned to their eventual issues.

We hope you enjoy the changes we have made to improve your scholarly reading experience. Thank you for continuing to make INFORMS your trusted source for basic and applied research and technologies in operations research and the management sciences!
