The Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI) in Dublin has an active energy economics research group. We wish to recruit 2 postdoctoral researchers to work on a project titled Energy Systems Integration Partnership Programme (ESIPP). The 2 postdoctoral researchers are expected to focus the two following topics respectively:
- Model-based assessment of potential benefits from integrating energy systems (e.g., through technologies such as Power-to-Gas and Power-to-Heat or through regulatory interventions) through development and application of Operations Research (OR) models for integrated energy market and grid modelling. Such benefits might include cost or emission reduction, security of supply or other societal benefits.
- Analysing energy market design and its impact on technology investment decisions in integrated energy systems. This includes the development and application of methods to support investment decisions under regulatory and technological uncertainty.

The appointment will be for a three-year, fixed-term contract.
Applications need to be received by 25th March 2016. All applications will be acknowledged. Late or incomplete applications will not be processed.
The ESRI is committed to equal opportunities and to selection on merit.
