Strengthening Ethical Standards in Scholarly Publishing at INFORMS

By Christopher Tang posted 3 hours ago

Dear Colleauges,

Before the year ends, Matt Walls and I published a piece in INFORMS OR/MS Today clarifying the INFORMS Publication Ethics policy now in effect.

INFORMS is committed to protecting the integrity of scholarly publishing. With 11,000 submissions annually across 17 journals, our vibrant publishing program reflects the ambition of our community.

However, growth demands vigilance.

To uphold trust, INFORMS has strengthened its Publication Ethics policy (Policy 13.8), effective August 2025. The revised policy introduces:

* Clear definitions of ethical standards:
* Stronger safeguards to prevent misconduct
* Robust procedures for addressing violations

These measures reaffirm our dedication to integrity, transparency, and fairness in all publications. See: https://pubsonline.informs.org/do/10.1287/orms.2025.04.23/full/

Happy holidays.
